About the Toddy Pond Watershed Management District
The Toddy Pond Watershed Management District is the quasi-municipal entity created by the Maine State Legislature to own, manage, repair and generally maintain the impoundment that forms Toddy Pond. Further, to be the responsible owner of the fish passage adjacent to the current dam to insure robust migratory fish movements now and into the future.
The District is a partnership between the towns surrounding the pond, namely Blue Hill, Orland, Penobscot and Surry, and the lakefront property owners on the pond itself. This partnership recognizes the recreational, environmental and economic impact of Toddy Pond on the towns, region and State of Maine. They are dedicated to the long term health and beauty of the lake and the preservation of its environment for today and future generations.
The District is overseen by an entirely voluntary board made up of elected lakefront property owners and town appointed representatives.
If you have questions for the district’s board, are looking for more information beyond what can be found on the website or wish to volunteer to help the district board protect and preserve the natural wonder that is Toddy Pond, feel free to contact us at info@toddydistrict.org.
